Very disappointed on the first visit. The restaurant was busy so I ordered something simple to go thinking I would come back and try it on a more sedate evening. The wings were dry and shriveled, mercifully tossed. The service seemed very stressed. Maybe another visit to try again.

The enigma as others have indicated is the menu including seafood Cuban and Italian. Our group of 8 was mostly disappointed but I think it stemmed mostly from the service. Yes, they were full on a Saturday night but waiting for water, bread and basics was unacceptable. Delivery of appetizers and salads was not only slow but wrong items came with slow replacement. I had French onion soup to start which was excellent. The salad was nice and my entire of spaghetti with meat sauce was nicely prepared and had a nice spice to it. My wife had the Cuban skirt steak which I finished for lunch the day after and it also was very good. Staff tried to make amends for the slow service by bringing more sangria and beers. Instead of more booze a few desserts would have been more appropriate for all to share and by that time the crowd had dissipated. The check came to $50 per couple without tip and quite reasonable. We've been to Phyllis G a number of times over the past 7 years but not for at least 2 years. I would return and expect to find the service better. However just to be safe I'd hedge my recommendation by suggesting you plan to be patient and then enjoy good food at reasonable price. Also, the atmosphere is an enigma. Don't expect anything more than a remodeled gas station and you'll be ok.

I don't review often but when I do it's for am amazing restaurant. The husband and wife duo really seem to put their hear and soul into each dish. I had the veal marsala and honestly they nailed it. The sauce was in point and the pasta was cooked perfectly. It's a very special restaurant to take the family to our what not. The husband took our order and let us order the dishes to our preferences. The only thing you should be aware of its that the service might take a hair longer because the couple is running everything, but it's WORTH it.

Worst service, very average food. Sat for ten minutes before anyone came over for drink orders. Skirt steak tasted very greasy like it was marinated in oil. They never came around to fill soda glasses or coffee cups or ask us if we wanted anything else. No bread served. Service was awful!

We have been regulars for a number of years. The veal chop is always my staple but all the seafood is fresh and plentiful. Homemade San Gria white or red is an excellent compliment to all dishes. Prices relative to quality and portions are very in line. Not sure why the negatives as my wife and I are are always pleased by the service and food. Keep up the good work.

I agree with most posts, the menu is all over the place, it's Cuban, American, Italian...but what they do serve even though it's all over the place is great and great portions! The service is good, can be hectic at times but still never bad service. I say, come here when you're not rushing, sit outside (when the weather permits) and enjoy.

Not really sure what to say about this place... The menu says Cuban American Cusine, but they also serve Italian. beer and wine only, not a full bar. The menu is very cheaply designed, words are mispelled and grammar is not correct. Looks like the owners designed the menu in MS word with cheasy clipart. The place is small and dark inside, probably seats no more than 50 people. The men's bathroom smelled like sewage and is outdated and felt dirty... Actually the entire restaurant seems a little outdated and feels dirty. We visited on a Monday, they only had 3 tables occupied when we arrived. In the corner of the small dining room they had a women playing the keyboard and singing (this was very awkward). I think the owner was sitting at the bar and had her 2 children eating and watching cartoons on the TV at the bar. I ordered the pork chop special and my wife ordered a snapper entree. One of my prok chops came out to the table and it was raw, sent it back and it came back to me overcooked and dry. The food is WAY overseasoned, which I guess is a good thing if are 80 years old and you dont have taste buds anymore. The server was fine, very attentive and could hold a conversation and joke around a little bit. Im sure he could serve at any other restaurant in the area and see larger tips in his pocket. Im not sure what they are trying to pull off here, but it might be time to rethink the concept. Overall, I will never go back nor will I suggest this any of my friends, family or colleagues. With all of the dining in Delray and Boynton Beach, save yourself from the awkward experience and poor food, and try another restaurant.

A gem! Delicious and reasonable fish dishes. Upbeat caring service. A bit noisy on Sat. night. Try the flan for dessert-it's worth the calories!!

Sadly, we stopped going to Phyllis G's. It was a family favorite for a long time, but last time we went, ordered the Snapper and what they served us was most definitely NOT Snapper. The fish was mushy/not firm/ and not fresh. Seems like they are jumping on the restaurant bandwagon by serving "garbage" fish such as swai/basa/talapia. Too bad. We used to love this place.
